Silent Edge - "The Eyes of the Shadow"

In August 2000, Silent Edge recorded a demo CD containing 2 powerful melodic symphonic metal tracks, written by Emo Suripatty and Minggus Gaspersz called 'Under a Shaded Moon' and 'Savage Symphony.' These two songs immediately made a big impression on listeners. Resulting in some live gigs for several local radio stations, interviews and a great demo review by the Dutch leading metal magazine Aardschok (Nov. 2000 issue) where the demo was judged 'Demo of the Month.' All the attention led to performaning at Progpower Europe in October 2001.

In Dec. 01, they won the 'Metal Bash', the Dutch metal contest organized by Aardschok metal magazine, as best Dutch Metal Act of 2001/2002.

After years of experimenting, composing and rehearsing, Silent Edge finally made it in 2002 to the 'New Road Music Studio's' in Wijchen, Holland to record their debut album 'The Eyes of the Shadow.' To record this album Marco Kleinnibbelink (ex-Deadhead, Syrinx) joined the group to take care of the drums of the band and became a full member of Silent Edge.

Silent Edge stands for varied progressive metal with many musical highlights in a very atmospherical ambience.

At this time Silent Edge is taking time to produce their next upcoming album. They hope to finish the writing process and pre-production by the end of this year. Pre-production and planning is slated to start in December.

The band also has a new booking agent out of Germany, and they're looking forward to more shows in Europe, a possible Japanese tour, and a tour in the USA in 2006. (And that makes DVS Records USA VERY happy!) Without being told a little more, vocalist Willem Verwoert says the next CD will be a "big surprise, nothing like The Eyes of the Shadow." If the band even matches the quality and diversity of their past albums, the next one due out early 2006 will be well worth the wait!!! Come on guys, hurry up!
